26 January, the day when we officially declared ourselves as a REPUBLIC...

India became a republic is not as simple as only that we will elect our head of state and that monarch will not rule us. This word Re-Public  ( taken from Res Republica ) also means a PUBLIC AFFAIR...
Moreover, Re-Public if read like this means a reboot of the public.  By patriotism, we usually think like...

Indian Soldiers

Though nothing can be more than the unmatched sacrifice of these brave hearts our veer jawans,
but what we as the public in that res PUBLICA can do to contribute to this land of the great men?

It is very hard to think because we in India as the PM recently pointed out have a limited scope of our dreams, ambitions, etc.
I t is like I want to become an IAS officer, then I can be independent,  I can serve the people hence an individual affair more and a national affair less.
We never feel like I will make India in the top 10 innovators or like I will work for quality education...

Not only as an IAS but as a citizen of a country where Gandhiji, Tilak, Bhagat Singh ...were born and I am fortunate to be born there how can I payback?

And then an incident happened a few days back. That incident which makes the scolding from home inevitable, which is a second makes the mightiest man feeble and the incident which the greatest of the greatest man fears ..."CHALLAN"
Yes, in India it is as if you eloped with a girl of another faith as it attracts the same amount of scolding from family as is the case of eloping.
Many times we just drive with that 'Macho Man Style ' and we see reality

Traffic Scrutiny

And yes the most dreadful time when we are threatened with FINE ...

Great system

We try to what they call 'Make a settlement'

Lust and settlement lead to corruption

" I know it morally incorrect and ethically wrong but you know what, Ghar vale maar date
(family would have killed me ) " this what people say. Moreover, the Hassle bustle of offices makes people very scary. It is this scare, this anxiety or whatever you call the reason which makes Traffic Policing the corruption heaven. If you understand as to why challans are made you will know, we did something very bad to our country,
Lets, make an analogy of challan with the hateful homework of maths we got. Yes, everyone disliked it but we went through the process, those brain tyring problems, and now can use it in our everyday life.
Likewise, to make the driver feel disturbed by such hassle, so that next time he is careful the traffic challan is made.
We thinking about everything, not our nation its revenue,(again the scope of our thinking is very narrow) bribe the officer.
Then, abuse him as much as we can inside our car or while riding the bike.

Now what happened to me was that I being absent-minded about my studies just rod on the wrong side and Challan Challan.
I asked about, not a settlement, but RTA Office and yes Ghar ki gaali (Scold from home )
the inevitable outcome happened too. But I am now very Careful, not absent-minded.

What all this challan story was about is to tell, that we are more Farzi or as Riggs says FORMALISM.
We are adamant and do not want to learn but to run away from situations. That bride is not only a symbol that the police is bad or corrupt but a sign of how static we are when it comes to learning from situations...

Indian Heritage

It took a lot to furl this flag signifying The Indian Republic. I f we will carry this irresponsible, static and ignorant attitude It will lead us to a Farzi culture. Jaana Kaha hai Hume aur chale hain Kaha pe hum? (where do we ought to go, and where we are heading?)

So, this Republic day lets be the REPUBLIC of India where we s try to see the implication of the slightest actions on our country. Where I  am not only I but a citizen of a country with unbeatable hope and aspiration.
Let's pledge to be less farzi more with farz, let us are less I, more Indian.

Happy Republic Day.
 Jai Hind !!!
